Antoine Carpentier

Pr Antoine Carpentier, MD, PhD, is a neuro-oncologist, head of the department of neurology in Saint-Louis hospital, which is part of the Parisian hospital network (AP/HP) and Pars 7 University.

Dr. Carpentier has an educational background in both neurology and neuro-oncology. He completed his training in neurology at the Salpêtrière hospital in Paris in 1995. In 1996, he did a one-year research fellowship in neuro-oncology at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York with Dr Posner and Dr Dalmau. Following, he was a clinical fellow, then an assistant professor, at the Salpêtrière hospital in neuro-oncology. In 2007, he was appointed as a professor and head of department of neurology at the Avicenne hospital, before moving to Saint Louis hospital in 2017.

His clinical practice includes patients with primary brain tumors, metastatic brain cancers and leptomeningeal diseases. Pr Antoine Carpentier is active in several on-going clinical trial studies. In the laboratory, his research is mainly focused on cancer immunotherapy. He is a member of the French association of neuro-oncology (ANOCEF) and of the EANO.
